Tithes
God’s plan for the support of His work on this earth is through the tithe and freewill offerings of His people. The tithe (a tenth of one’s increase) is the main source of funding for the total proclamation of the gospel to all the world by the Seventh-day Adventist. The tithe is the Lord’s and should be returned to the storehouse, the conference treasury, through the member’s home church.
Tithes collected by Silverleaf Church are remitted to the Cape Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, from which it eventually is shared to the Union, Division and world church.

Mission Offering
The Adventist Church is built on mission. Sharing God’s love around the world is like a vehicle. It needs fuel to propel it. Our mission offerings are the fuel that propels almost every aspect of outreach. Without that fuel, our best efforts are hampered. At Silverleaf Church we are passionate about mission and collect a Mission Offering each week to support the missionary endeavours of the word-wide church, and an extra-special Mission Offering is collected on the 13th Sabbath of every quarter.

Church Offering
Biblical stewardship is the total commitment of the heart to God. This includes the returning of the Lord’s tithe and the giving of freewill offerings as an expression of our spiritual worship. Tithe and offerings, in many ways are similar but they are also very different. For example, whereas tithe is about a specific quantity of the whole (our increase), offerings are about the quality of the gift. The primary principle of offerings is that we give God our best in recognition of who He is–the Giver of all good gifts (James 1:17).
Offerings are used to support the local church budget in order to defray the administrative and running costs of the church, as well as to support its local missionary endeavours.
Little Hands Offering
At Silverleaf Church we have a burden for Christian education.
Through the Little Hands Offering, we gather funds to support students to attend the Primary and High Schools on the Helderberg Campus, who would otherwise not be able to afford it.
Helderberg College Student Fund
Funds raised go into the College’s Bank account to be allocated to general funds for:
1) Food for students when needed
2) Student registration or tuition fees at crucial times
3) Specific, individual students
Any worthy student may be assisted according to the College Administration’s discretionary processes, irrespective of their church affiliation or their course of study. Please visit the Helderberg College Student Fund Facebook Page on the link below to read more about the students currently in need: HelderbergCollegeStudentFund
